Anna Paulowna sits in the heart of the tulip region of Kop van Noord-Holland. In spring the bulb fields turn the polder bright pink, yellow and red. The Anna Paulowna train station is on the Amsterdam–Den Helder line — perfect for a cycling day from Amsterdam.
From Anna Paulowna it's a 30-minute ride across the polder to the Callantsoog dunes. The bulb-field route runs through tulip fields, dikes and creeks — 22 km flat. Towards Den Helder you follow the Noordhollandsch Kanaal north.
